Time holds so little meaning these days. I don't think that's because of getting older. It's more likely because I spend weeks at a time putting thousands of tiny beads or hundreds of stitches of yarn together. Shudder-worthy. Anyway. 2011 meme stolen unceremoniously from various online places that probably don't want me linking back to them.
1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
Geez, why start with a hard question? Um... fought claw and fang for a fucking pre-order, I guess. I didn't even know that was possible before this year. Such an exciting life I lead!
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't see the point in resolutions, personally. If you want something to change, change it. Waiting for a special day to do so is a cop-out.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
...Not that I know of, so... that'd be a no..? Unless you mean aliens leaping out of their stomachs. A few of those every year.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My grandfather. That's still a little... weird. I mean, we haven't been close for quite some time, but he was quite the interesting individual. It's very sad to think of how quiet my grandmother's house must be now, honestly.
5. What countries did you visit?
Only the US and the ones in my mind. They are free to travel to. Supposedly.
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
Common sense. Time. Always more time. I'm aware that won't happen, though, which seems important. Doesn't mean I can't wish for it.

...Spending 30 working days (and untold days off) on a single project..? Frankly, I have no idea. But so long as it's a spectacular failure, I don't care.

That's a shit question to ask me. *grin* Besides my eyes getting enough tiny surface cuts to prevent me from wearing contacts for a very long time, same as usual.

Ha ha. Ha. Ha. Okay, let's see, from memory... a few geeky t-shirts, socks, underwear, slippers, Rinzler, Dissidia Firion, Dissidia Sephiroth, a massive amount of Tron diecast figures at a massive discount, Vinylmation Rinzler, the SDCC Tron statue, Figma KOS-MOS, Tron and Sark Kubricks, NECA Tron, the very very pink knock-off Barbie bar, Play Arts Kai Dissidia Squall, Nendoroid Tachikoma, Figuarts Wild Tiger, Figuarts Barnaby Brooks Jr., an official "Let's believe HEROES" neck strap, and a Chibiterasu plush. Admittedly, it has been an awesome fucking year for toys, and I worked my ass off and my fingers raw for each one so yeah, I'm happy about everything I was able to afford.
It's not like it was all toys, either. I got a hell of a lot of supplies, most of them on sale, and a few extra display pieces, so. I'm only 99.9% irresponsible.
13. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
...Toys. *grin* Though I really don't think I'm capable of excitement. Not as most people seem to understand it.
14. What song will always remind you of 2011?
Can't quite decide between "The Power of Justice" or "Happy Synthesizer". Heh. Music doesn't really fit a year for me, though. More like a time period. I... don't think anything sums up this time period just yet.
15. Compared to this time last year, are you happier?
Could not answer that.
16. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Stupidly? Possibly work. That's sort of impossible, though. I would like to get back to being able to play games more than one morning every few weeks, but we'll see if that happens anytime soon. On the sidelines about breath training... I'm usually just singing for myself these days, so a fussy diaphragm doesn't matter so much.

Feeling like crap, frankly, but not much to be done about that. I think I pulled through pretty well, despite it.

Like I spend almost every Sunday: cleaning and then recovering from cleaning. Oh, and eating pizza and cheesecake! (Had fried rice on my birthday, instead.)

My full answer would be ranty and way too long, so I'll just say that I haven't fallen in love any more or any less this year than last.

Community was really the only thing I watched. There was some Big Bang Theory in there, too, but Community... speaks to me. Some day I'll catch up on The Venture Brothers, too.

The Fat Man on Game Audio: Tasty Morsels of Sonic Goodness by George "The Fat Man" Sanger, naturally. Yeah, sure it was a re-read but the book is really just that damn good.

(Ăhk-to͝ong Ba͞y-bi) Covered (and downloadable, hint hint). Not a discovery as much as a delicious cover album of one of my favorites, U2's Achtung Baby. "Zoo Station" as done by Nine Inch Nails is worth the whole thing alone, but The Killers' "Ultraviolet (Light My Way)", Depeche Mode's "So Cruel" and Jack White's "Love is Blindness" are just as transcendent. Mmm.

*looks around* I got what I really wanted. And there's a pug who comes down and curls up with me every morning. This is good.

...Be careful when cleaning under the microwave because there's this huge, sharp piece of metal in a weird place for no reason and your hand is going to take three weeks to heal if you mess with it. I r so s-m-r-t.
