Sometimes. Yay for Chapter 17 of "Broken Soldier"! Been a while, yeah. That's call "buried in other work time". (Demi and Rakashi's little scene in the middle there happened in the initial draft, but I was going to leave it out of this one since it kind of interrupted the "flow" I had going on... but then I missed it when it wasn't there, and it amuses me. Fuck it, says I, we'll see what the whole novel reads like when it's actually done. Hooray long and agonizing editing processes.) I guess I should warn for nonchalant descriptions of violence...

Why There Are Very Few People in This World Who I Could Ever Live With
(or, I Have an Excuse to Be Crazy: I'm a Writer)

Me: *interrupted in the middle of washing dishes with character dialog* *mutters, dries hands off, writes it down, comes back and continues washing dishes*
Wasband: *walking through to put clothes in the washing machine*
Me: *speaking a long string of curses as yet more character dialog comes to mind and once again dries hands to go write it down*
Wasband: *a moment later* That wasn't to me, right?
Me: No, just the voices in my head being pains in the ass.
Wasband: So long as it wasn't to me. *goes back upstairs*

...My mother just told me to make sure to wear something tight and sexy so we might be able to get the security guards to help us with getting our merchandise-filled luggage to Artists Alley. I'm not sure if I ought to assure her that she has no reason to remind me or not. (Well, I guess OrgLIX!Ienzo is sort of intentionally frumpy, but there's still a damn short skirt and a corset top under that hoodie. And the ass-kickers. It's always about the boots. Did not have the time/funds to play with femme!Tron this year. *grin* Yeah, like none of you saw that coming. I should just get a packer and a harness and be done with it, I know. Particularly under the tight shiny red vinyl femme!Dante skirt.)

Now that the TMI is done for the day, Using Kinect To Make Your Own Action Figures. Finally, a practical and important use for Kinect. I would totally take a KHII Tron figure, too. If someone, you know, has the model and wants to feed that into a 3D printer. Or that whole scene where Tron hugs Sora. ...Don't judge me.

And way to go supply company for telling me, oops, my order won't take 5 but 7-10 business days to reach me, the day after I order. *sigh* User, improvise, etc.
Another freaking (short) chapter of "Broken Soldier" is done. Just watch, it'll slow down once the story gets going.

Been pondering using and upgrading my Writing.com account again. Part of me hates paying to put writing somewhere, but it did get me a lot more exposure "way back when". I'm... not entirely what the point of that is now, though. *snort* It's not that I'm not open to improving myself, I'm just... not a critique kind of person, giving or receiving. I'm sure it drives readers nuts, but please feel free to read someone else's work rather than trying to get mine to fit into someone else's preconceived notion of acceptable story-telling. I know the story I'm telling and the voice it's told in, maybe? Mmm, pretentious. A lot more options would open to me on the site for just $20 for a whole year, though... hm. *and ponders some more*

CARPET IS FINALLY SCHEDULED TO BE INSTALLED THIS COMING SATURDAY. And then I work like a bitch (appropriate) to get shit cleaned and aired out so I can move in. The toys, they need their shelves. My Transformers are in boxes. They need to be free.

Which leads me into how I was introduced to Alter's Kusanagi Motoko figure. I hate you so much, Jez. You and your "Can you imagine if {insert awesome character here} were a Play Arts Kai?" The answer is yes. The answer is always yes.

Since I feel tired for absolutely no reason, here are some winning things that came from my fingers today:

"The thing about being passive-aggressive is, I'd have to be passive in my aggressiveness. Therein lies the problem with your argument."

"Ozzy and Randy Rhoads, man. THEY WERE SO DEMONICALLY POWERFUL THAT GOD HAD TO TAKE ACTION." (That got a laugh, at least.)

On a roll or just lucky? I'll peg it as lucky. Another chapter of "Broken Soldier" has decided to surface. Between you, me and the internet, I think it's just a good excuse to distract myself from completely reformatting the writing portion of my web site.

Got my copy of Lightning Spliced today! And since I seem to be writing an awful lot recently, I hope to start reading it tomorrow. Had to flip through the pages a bit as soon as it arrived, though, which is just something that I do. Was fine reading the About the Author and fine right through the introduction... and then I turned the page and there was simply, "Dedicated to the brethren, we know who we are". Seriously... fuck cancer, man. I'd hoped to be able to discuss the book with her, but... I guess I'll have to wait until I get to that big arcade in the sky. And with Zellie there, it's going to be an arcade. Of course, then they'll realize I don't belong in the air conditioned arcade, if you get my meaning...

I admit that while I like to pretend "DMC" doesn't exist (as does Devil May Cry's creator, Hideki Kamiya)... I am very intrigued by Capcom's response of "I'm just saying the context might enlighten you." I'm sort of getting the feeling this is them covering their ass from fans with a similar response to mine, but... I'm still hoping for a little misdirection. S-E has taught me that false hope feels real enough to suffice.

Now I'm off to finish e-mail and quite thoroughly enjoy the finale of Kuroshitsuji II. And I know that I will quite thoroughly enjoy it.

Since I finally got DarkHorse Vendetta all squared away, it makes sense to take a bit of a vacation from writing, doesn't it? To just sit back and enjoy not-writing, not-editing, and doing something else. Which is clearly why I'm not doing that. Loooong ago I had a project called "Broken Soldier". I've decided that it's technically a half-written novella, so I may as well slowly fill in the details and finish it. Hence, first chapter and working title. And since I'm totally re-doing the writing portion of my web site, it's on FictionPress right now. Yeah, well... it works for the moment.

And yes, I'm totally doing another fic request thing in October to celebrate Halloween. You'll see what one has to do with the other soon enough.

Oh, and some of you may want to go back and read the conclusion of that creepy Majora's Mask story... plus the last video. Then again, hey, you may not. *grin*

I guess we'll be waiting until January for more real Versus information. Okay, fine, I can deal. And one of my favorite guilty pleasures is getting a sequel--in 2012. Sure, good. The fact that The Last Guardian isn't coming out until at least "the holidays" of 2011 is actually very reassuring to me. Plenty of time to set aside time and money just for it. But dammit, S-E, when am I going to be able to get my hands on Dissidia Sephiroth? (And a Play Arts Kai Sebastian. I demand it. You do want the rest of my shriveled soul, don't you?)

Tiny bit of nonsensical writing; original, mostly conversation, teaser. )

After browsing for a while, I realize that I have several megabytes worth of writing that I've never finished and never shared. (It's okay, you don't have to care. If I did anything strictly for the joy of other people I wouldn't be me. *grin*) Gonna have to start solving this problem. (Not that I'm moving away from fan fiction or muse indulgences, believe me.) I'm still sort of hoping that I'll have more of a chance focusing on music when I'm not being constantly interrupted or forced to listen for things since no one else is capable due to age or taking shit care of their hearing. At least there's something that my body is still capable of. Ha!

Mmm, need more gaming. There's a dandy pirate surfer dude I need to be bothering in the near future.
