So my glasses came today. I bought from EyeBuyDirect because the damn web site loaded. (Ex-ma-in-law recommended Zenni Optical, but the web site never loaded for me so clearly I was not patient enough to give a damn.) I must say it was a good experience, and the wait was comparatively small. Obviously the main point here was decent prices--and when they do finally ship, stuff gets here fast and well-packaged, and each pair comes in its own clear plastic case with a cleaning cloth. Got them checked out via the former lens tech friend and he confirmed that they're excellent quality. Apparently everyone who uses the coupon code "IFJPA4V8QU" on their first order will get 15% off, too. Have at it, kids.

A quick note if you're all petite and delicate like I am *snort*; small-sized frames are likely to fit your face better, but medium are just fine. Mine turned out a little wider than I'd anticipated, but not in like a "gotta send them back" way, so... whatever. They fit fine and they feel fine, and that's kind of more important to me. Besides, there's an enjoyable "wolf in sheep's clothing" feel to looking all tiny and demure in glasses. ...Okay, so no one would ever mistake me for demure. ...Actually, these are very good for glaring with. Kick-ass.

It's going to take a long time to get used to this. But no more contact solution is an oddly nice thing... even if I will miss changing eye colors.

In other news, very much needed to start completely random project. Still in the very beginning stages of completely random project... amidst the sinking feeling that this is going to wind up taking much more time and effort than I expected. Why is this my life.

That was not a question. Do not answer that.

Responses soon, now that I can--you know--see.
