Okay, to simplify: I had contact over-wear. So instead of a little extra irritation from allergies, as I though I had, it turns out there were actually a bunch of scrapes on the surface of my eye that were slowly getting wore. Ha ha, universe, ha ha. Last week I was pretty much told to immediately stop wearing contacts. This time around, apparently all of the white blood cells that had gathered are gone (kind of really fucking important, we'll leave it at that; remind me to stop researching shit), and most of the scrapes are healed. He was still concerned about some dry spots, though, so I'm supposed to keep using the lubricating eye drops ("I've got lube in my eye!" gets old fast... but it still amuses me) and go see him again next week. Bleh. I mean, yes, it's much better than it could be, but just one of those little annoyances.

Since the mark-up on glasses is completely disgusting, I elected to buy them online. As someone who's friends with a former lens tech, let me assure you the quality is likely to be better than a one-hour glasses place, so don't give me that look. *grin* The only downside is the waiting, of course. Seeing as how I'm still perfectly capable of doing work and using the computer with an increase in font size, however... it's just another little annoyance.

--Like eye drops, crap.

I'll remember eventually, I swear.

Still waiting to see how much insurance is going to screw me over, though. Fun times. Problem is, there is a web site. I can log in, this time around. ...But when something is "processing" it makes absolutely no sense and none of the numbers seem to add up. Seems about right that they'd rely on mathematics from another dimension, though.

The follow-up may have taken five whole minutes, so after that we stopped at a craft store and I felt up the yarn to some very odd looks from employees. Are they concerned about the sanctity of their yarn? Can yarn discern the difference between bad touches and good touches? (...Can I?) Anyway, I bought nothing and came home and did work, dammit. *grin*

So, some links. We keep being told that Japanese games aren't as popular as they used to be. I keep demanding proof that it's Japanese games and not games across the board due to economical crap, but I keep being ignored.

Soul Calibur V trailer. My only reaction: "Where's Voldo?"

Every once in a while I like to remind people that my favorite medium can also be something more . Tablet Games Trump Traditional Therapy in Treating Autism and Cerebral Palsy.

But sadly Tim Langdell is still a moron.

In case someone out there did not know, I love Guillermo del Toro. So fucking much. These are just some reasons why. Do allow me to quote.
"I'm really a freak in every place I go. I don't quite fit in the independent scene, I don't quite fit in the art scene, and I don't fit in the Hollywood scene, so I'm a weird strange fat motherfucker. I'll tell you this: I plan to stay that way, because there is something to be said… I think when you get comfortable, you start growing old. You are doing something wrong."
Three words for you: Alien Xenomorph motorcycle.

"Rumor" has it that Rock Bison will go up for pre-order on August 1. *sighs and rubs temples* I wasn't going to pre-order... I really wasn't... Is it wrong to hope for birthday money just to pay off a pre-order?

o_o I'm glad you went in for a check up to catch that before it got any worse.

Which sites do you usually buy contacts/glasses from? I normally get them through the store, but they're pretty expensive...
