"Oh my god! Somebody sound the It's Not Cannon alarm! (Incidentally, it sounds exactly like a whining fanboy/girl. 'WaaaAAAaaahhh! WaaaAAAaaahhh! WaaaAAAaaahhh!')" Someone needs to remind me that if I insist upon reading forums, then I should never ever actually post on them.
However, I stumbled upon the very good possibility that there will be either a re-release or an update to the '82 Tron toy line. Bye bye, money, I hardly knew ye. There was a mention of a 1/4 scale lightcycle... but with a rider, and from Sideshow. I like Sideshow, but I'd estimate a 1/4 lightcycle at approaching $300, so... no. I'm alarmingly irresponsible with toys and money, but that would require a head injury. And I'd have to pry the rider off and break the thing, and... ah well.
In more toy non-news, it looks like my KOS-MOS pre-order is still good to go. Apparently Good Smile Company went back on it's "no selling to the US through Japanese stores" policy..? The reports are conflicting. I really don't care. Bitch better not get in the way of my KOS-MOS.
I HAVE NOT LOOKED AT ANY EARLY TOY FAIR NEWS. Yet. I will be filled with regret, so I may as well wait until after I'm done cleaning tomorrow.
And back to Tron stuff, 'cause I know you guys love that. grabbed Tron: Betrayal for $6 brand new (I am pleased with this, leave me alone) and it finally arrived today. I just sat down in silence and enjoyed a whole graphic novel from cover to cover for the first time in too many damn years. I'm picky, and I'm not a big fan of the style, but as I said I still enjoyed myself and it would have been worth the retail price. But I did not pay the retail price, you see. Parades and confetti for me. (Not "*confetti*". Just to be clear, here. ...Though that wouldn't be a bad thing.)
Something else I haven't done in years? Pizza and Big Trouble in Little China. Bliss.
Have taken a minor break from chocobos... for a beading project. For I am stupid. But we'll call it a break, anyway.
And this certain fic-in-progress took on plot and mountains of exposition. *glares at it* Why won't you get to the sex?
And because I have been following the tale with some amusement... We're all familiar with media spouting bullshit out of every orifice. So while I link to these things regarding a Fox News report about all of the horrors that Bulletstorm and video games in general are apparently capable of, let's all keep in mind that the mouthpieces on TV are all living, breathing bullshit--this just happens to be one fine example. The ridiculousness starts here. Then the proof of selective quoting is here. Followed by someone who wasn't quotes at all because clearly the answers made too much sense. Finally, Kotaku talks a little about the woman who was quoted as saying, more or less, that violent games cause rape. We are all winners, here. Some more than others.
