Yes, so, I unpacked more toys today. Heh. Got a few things moved down from here, and a few more boxes opened and unpacked... and vacuumed again. Argh. I'm thinking it might be best to focus on moving in and then unpacking the rest... but we'll see what happens. There's still a lot to do and that damn carpet smell just lingers no matter how many full days the windows are open. The dresser is functional. This is important.

I have 3/4 of a three-layer chocolate cake in my freezer. This is important, too.

Finally managed to absorb everything in animated form that is Ghost in the Shell. Methinks it needs a while to settle before I can express it. Good, though. Very good.

Video game meme time again.

WHERE DO I START. I love the music in No More Heroes. I just really, really love it. There's a playful irony to it, which I can't really explain. It's just good and delightfully creepy in parts.

Godhand. Seriously, a great soundtrack to a kickass game. Western-inspired fun and awesome kickassery. It's bouncy, it's playful, it's ocassionally fucked up. Just like the game.

Soukaigi. I don't know if anyone else knows why this is kind of funny, but it is. It's also a legitimately good soundtrack.

And now for honorable mentions. I really didn't like playing Katamari Damacy, but the soundtrack is all kinds of stupid fun. Much like the game, the soundtrack for Ico has the ability to take my breath away. ...Yes, Shadow of the Colossus gets a mention here as well. The grandiose scale and the moments of quiet are enhanced by the music. The World of Goo soundtrack is also surprisingly vast and interesting.

And okay, not technically a game soundtrack, but if you haven't checked out Voices of the Lifestream, do so. Some really, really incredible remixes and remakes of FF7 music. And since I'm throwing out "not quite soundtracks", get hold of anything Zelda Reorchestrated has to offer. THEY DO THE OCARINA FIRE TEMPLE MUSIC RIGHT. Or used to, anyway. They might have changed it. That would make me sad. I'm looking at you, Nintendo.

Prompt list.

Now... I just need tea.
