OVEN GET. ...Need to test it out tomorrow. I would rather not remember having to clean the crap off of the microwave before I could even bring it inside, though. Mostly sawdust... I hope. I hope a lot. Anyway, kitchen is done, just needs to be restocked at some point. Tomorrow I vacuum the carpet and see about bringing some furniture in... after I clear it. Ugh. Oh, and frames for the kitchen artwork. You'll see. It's dazzlingly appropriate.
Unfortunately everything hurt worse today. *mutter* Three days ago my shoulder started being a bastard, so moving a countertop convection oven and a microwave after reaching up to clean cabinets and shelves was probably stupid. Hooray hindsight. But I will get this done. I must get this done. No matter how temporary, it will be my living space.
Video game meme time.
Well this is going to be a cop-out. If a game didn't make me happy I wouldn't elect to keep it with me. The only exceptions so far are Ico and Shadow of the Colossus thus far (and once again I must consider grabbing their "HD upgrades", which still kind of makes me uneasy but damn Team Ico deserves my money). There are so many games that I love with an insane passion and for so many different reasons, where just seeing the cover while I'm moving things around makes me smile. Just hearing the first notes of Ocarina of Time makes me deliriously happy, as does watching the intro to Soul Blade and then ripping someone a new asshole. Devil May Cry is forever going to make me grin like a loon and tear shit up. Twisted Metal is just... fucking Twisted Metal. Okami is beauty and elegance, Super Mario World is just damn fun, Yoshi's Island is even more a reminder of Zellie, Godhand is vicious and fucking hilarious, Crisis Core tears my heart out and yet continues to give hope and I can't help but feel uplifted in the end, Kingdom Hearts won't let you stop thinking about hearts connecting and what it means to protect what you love, Rez is pulsing pounding shooting rhythm, Road Rash is zen, Final Fantasy VII is the only RPG I can ever truly love and want to tear apart at the same time, and I can't fucking play Xenosaga but the intensity of the story and the ability to tell fate to fuck off makes me so happy--so you get the picture. Too many. I've said they are my myths and my pantheon of gods, and I meant it.
But I suppose, I suppose if there is just one I would be forced to choose that is pure, simple joy and nothing other... it's simply Audiosurf. My music, rendered into a little block-collecting roller coaster ride of lights and color. It's a game dedicated to whatever music you have, which speaks both to how I feel about music and how ingenious the game is. Simple. Beautiful. Move to the rhythm.
Prompt list..
More zoning out to Birth By Sleep and 2nd Gig now. Responses to come at some point soon. No, I mean it this time. *grin*

That's a good standard, but I do find myself wanting more games that can move me in different ways... games that remind me that, were I given the sorts of power videogame characters have, both the evil and the good in me would come out to use it. The Team Ico games do that, and Braid, but I honestly can't think of any other examples.

Of course by "make me happy" I sometimes also mean "the ending completely crushed me". My standards are a little odd.
