Nothing of Substance

So... Duke Nukem Forever may actually get released this time. Like, really. I want to pre-order it just because someone actually has the balls to pull it off--maybe. Sort of can't help but think all of a sudden Gearbox will vanish off the face of the earth, but dude. They don't make them like this anymore. I saw the leak of complete asset dumps for Ofer Alon's and Chris Senn's build of Sonix X-Treme, and now this. Bizarre.

All we got from the hurricane was a lot of rain last night and quite a bit of wind today. Not too bad. I forgot to take a look at the back corner to see how bad the leak may have gotten, though. Bleh. I just hope the dry well fixes the problem.

After going around and looking at yet more furniture places yesterday, I have decided fuck it, I'll order online and hope I can put slabs of composite wood together with the little instruction sheet that seems oddly familiar (and maddening) every single time I glance at it. But the carpet's not even in yet, so I'm not terribly concerned.

Oh my god TOY SHELVES. And that's what they were specifically built for, without a single blank stare from the carpenter. It was a minor victory. Sooner or later (hopefully sooner, though), there will be a nice dark blue-grey carpet. And some spiffy drapes to go with the "secret theme", ssshh.


There is an entire wall of the boiler room dedicated to storage. So much that I couldn't get it all in one picture even backed up against the opposite wall. Needles to say the shelves extend left and right, with extra mini-shelves on the right side.


Only peeking into the kitchen because damn it's small. But there's SO MUCH STORAGE now, so it actually doesn't seem as small as it used to. More pictures to come after certain artworks get hung up. It's fitting for this room's "secret theme" as well.


The bathroom is tiny, too, but a million times nicer than it used to be. I GOT A NEW TOILET, EXCITEMENT! Yes, there's a "secret theme" here, too.


And the laundry room is now separate. ...Don't know why I bothered to get a picture.

I declare that there will be jambalaya and Superman tonight. Yes, the original. (While I don't give a damn about the character, I still love the hell out of the first two movies. We simply will not speak of "others".)
