Commissions, commissions. I will be done with the commissioned set of Spiritual Stones very soon, pictures then. (Just need to do clean-up, one more layer of gold, more clean-up, then the enamel top coat, then let them set for two days or so. Oh, then a final polish. Then get the chains together. ...Yeah, that's all.) But I did do another Wild Tiger call bracelet (picture taken before I caved in and re-did the entire loop end because a bead shattered on me at the last possible minute and I was going to ask if the commissioner wanted a discount for an imperfect bracelet then decided fuck that, I'll just do it over because it's not fair otherwise, because I am insane and clearly a masochist), and then was oddly excited to get an order for a Dragon Kid one. But right now I am resting my hands before they lead an unpleasant revolution like my leg did this morning for no reason at all. Waking up to severe leg cramps is real fun. Especially on an exercise day. It all miraculously worked out, though.

EYE EXAM GET, LEVEL... remains the same. If the eye exam actually happens and insurance actually pays for it, then maybe I'll get some EXP. It was a long ordeal, MassHealth is still at least two years (yes, literally, I now have confirmation) behind on their provider lists, but until a previously-unknown rich relative dies and leaves me everything, I become spontaneously famous and sought-after for my work, or able to sell revoltingly ugly lumps of "modern art" to office buildings and the like, I will just have to deal. At least everyone over the phone was delightfully friendly this time around.

So yes, not much going on aside from work, which is the usual around here and therefore all is well. Resting my hands and wrists today, may continue tomorrow, then potentially more commissions, and eventually I'll get to more Zelda stuff thanks to a small but very appreciated Swarovski sale I stumbled upon. Then more geeky shinies that have been plotted out for some time. For those of you who did not know, my life is art/shiny things/work, toys, and video games, with music and writing woven into it all so deeply that they aren't even separate entities. That's pretty much it. There's always a touch of philosophy, of course, but that just comes with the territory.

So, links. Along comes Nomura to prod ever so gently at the idea of Kingdom Hearts 3 (and some other things, obviously). I know, I know. I will never be free. Just allowed to roam for a while. I still need to get my ass back to finishing Birth By Sleep. I think I'm exactly halfway through, which is sad.

I've been catching up on Extra Credits lately. I know Daniel Floyd as Sephfire, so it's still odd to think that he's married, working at Pixar, and doing a weekly bit like Extra Credits. Still, it is awesome, he is awesome, and I enjoy it, so I am telling everyone so.

I would never actually want to buy a life-sized Robocop bust... but the fact that it exists makes me so happy. I'd rather have a T-800 Endoskeleton, anyway. You know, if money grew on trees. In my house. Then I'd have a T-800 Endoskeleton holding a Robocop bust riding an animatronic unicorn. You know I would.

Visit Rome, see the statue of Superman and Batman’s foreplay. This needs no other description.

The test footage for Doc Oc's tentacles from Spiderman 2 is so supremely fascinating. I knew they were mostly practical effects, but I'd never seen them on their own before. Computer animation is well and good, but don't lose this brilliance.

Yeah yeah, you may notice I have a "thing" for robots/androids/automata/etc. They fascinate me--particularly when art and technology are fused, as demonstrated in this short film about karakuri.

And finally, everyone needs to check out Laurel Roth's art. Just... so incredible. Not just because I lust after peacocks and magnificent works made from simple things, either. This is gorgeousness. And may have inspired something. *sigh*
