So yes, alive. And doing stuff. Mostly commissions, not complaining at all than you for paying me to work. It appears that I will be going to Anime Boston... if I don't have to pay a shitload more money to get into Artists Alley due to Taxichusetts laws. The tables are already doubled in price this year, so... yeah. Waiting to hear what is expected of artists since the laws got "improved".
I totally missed out on wishing everyone a Happy Metal Day. (11/11.) I am the rare breed that loves both punk and metal, apparently. Finally saw The Decline of Western Civilization: Part 2. Yeah, well... yeah. *grin* That was... an experience. It just goes to show, though: Ozzy, Alice... I still love you guys so hard. I'd love a definitive documentary series (an hour or two are not enough) about the history of punk. No, real punk. I'm not a purist by any means, but... The Decline of Western Civilization: Part 1 does not to me count as punk. But I do have Just Kill Me so I guess that's better than nothing. Have not seen the Axl Rose That Metal Show interview yet. I'm getting there. Slowly.
Oh, if you're sick to death of horror movies that are either intensely boring or rely entirely on gore or jump scares, I recommend Absentia. Also finally saw Drag Me to Hell. Sam Raimi is one of very few capable of making me laugh and groan at the same time. That was hilariously harsh in so many ways. I'm not sure if it's "supposed" to happen, but for me sympathy was completely lost on the main character less than halfway through the movie and I was rooting for awful things to happen to her, but that makes it much more fun in my opinion. I still long for an Evil Dead 4, but... it's probably better in my head than it would be on screen. (Sorry, Bruce.)
What else, what else... Traded a beaded spider (blue and black, like Marty) for a painting! I couldn't resist. Here's the painting with a flash, and here without. It's so fucking hard to photograph acrylic.
And then there's lusting after 3A's Metal Gear Solid REX. So much awesome. Too bad I'm guessing it will be slightly under $500. 'Course I wouldn't mind a MGS1 Solid Snake instead, but... that'll have to wait. Secretly hoping for an affordable 1/6-ish Raiden one of these days...
The title says it all: A giant robotic snake chases a man piloting a spider mecha. What the hell else do you need?
Finally: Bill Nye, never change.
Now I relax, rest my hands, and finish up a commission tomorrow. Then, uh... figure out what to do next, I assume.
