Sunrise, you're making it damn hard to try and stay out of rampant Tiger and Bunny shipping or writing more crack, no don't ask about the "more" part. All of these fandoms are treating me so well that I don't know what to do with myself. ...Besides make stuff so I can afford to buy stuff, obviously. More half-naked lounging and alcohol consumption in partner's apartment then both of them waking up on the floor with no explanation, please. Between bouts of serious ass-kicking, naturally.
I was so happy to finally break into the triple digits of Gintama episodes. *snort* And oh how I was rewarded with another swell of "holy fucking shit I did not expect this". I think I finally understand why people like Sougo now. (Beyond the "super sadist" stuff, I mean.) Then I found out he was voiced by Suzumura and laughed. A lot. It's a... unique series, to say the least. There's a massive amount of brilliantly stupid humor with a huge dose of OrgLIX-like humor (as in totally fucked up, random, and some episodes are just... I may have dreamed them at some point, I'm not sure)--but when shit gets serious, it's pretty amazing. It ought to come off as even more stupid, as pure "why am I watching this?" cheese. Somehow it always winds up incredibly heartfelt, even when that humor comes back and slams you in the face. The juxtaposition is what makes it so perfect, the constant realization that you can't believe you've been watching the same show shift through such dramatic emotions so easily. And Elizabeth. The less said about Elizabeth, the better.
Just watched Die Hard for the first time in way too damn long and I'm still grinning like a lunatic, so how about some quick links. THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO EVER. You don't have to be a Star Wars fan, you don't have to be a Guns 'n' Roses fan, you just have to know that this is the BEST VIDEO EVER.
Finally I get around to linking to The Hidden Message in Pixar’s Films. I never considered them hidden so much as not waved about frantically while beating you over the head with them. You know, like most media seems to feel the need to do these days.
The Lost Machines of Richard A. Kirk are some beautiful and elegant nightmares. That is a compliment.
