More video game meme-ness.
You whipper snappers might not fully comprehend the impact now, but there was a time before Samus Aran was female. Well, okay, not technically--but the world didn't know about it. There was no sexy Zero Suit everywhere you looked, no Samus porn. There was absolutely no indication that the hero of Metroid was female unless you got the good ending (or better). This was a big deal, way back when, and still manages to have seemed more surprising than any other game endings or plot twists that I could think of. This was the 80's. Cool chicks in video games were kind of rare, but cool chicks who didn't advertise themselves as "I am a cool chick look at me look at me" were one in a million. Or, just Samus.
Now, my favorite plot twists take place in Xenosaga III... but those are less surprising to me than they are "Wait, what?" or "Fuck yes!" so there you go.

Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert are back together again. It just... made me so happy. The whole article makes me happy.
Nomura really is going to make KH3. Eventually. No, really. But... family? A marriage? Really? Would he even recognize these people if he saw them again, what with the high probability that he wouldn't recognize his own house due to living in the office for however many years? Maybe that's Kojima I'm thinking of...
The only thing that Hollywood would have made better, but didn't: Twilight.
