Black and red and purple and nothing like I envisioned. *snort* Will attempt the first idea again... eventually. Damn black wire.

I received one of the very coolest things ever today, an "apartment-warming gift for when I finally have an apartment to warm and make look awesome" gift, from [profile] animekittysama. It deserves another meal at Anime Boston for sure. *snort* Assuming... a lot of things.

I can't help but feel maybe a little, in part responsible for some of the Kuroshitsuji love going around on my friend's list. I'm not sorry, isn't it yummy? I'd like to think I'm not left wanting to yell at the end. This is my one worry.

Dammit, I had no idea it was International Cosplay Day. It's never too late for bunny ears!

One of my very favorite guilty pleasures is the English dub of Resident Evil: Degeneration. Too many characters named Leon crack me up without meaning to. Claire is awesome, though. She fills me with happy.

And why not start with random linking since my attention span is in flux. This fan-made trailer for the Xenosaga series has been one of my very favorite things for some time now. It is truly epic. As is the series itself, which I suppose will forever be a trilogy. I can't really complain about that one, considering. Attempting not to reveal spoilers, KOS-MOS is so much more than she appears, and while Shion seriously pissed me off and sort of made me hate her in the last game, it's about much more than just her. Fate can be defied. Hearts can be changed. And Allen is awesome. Shut up.

Versus and Agito will be making an appearance at TGS. ...Probably not much of one, but still! Considering Ueda has hinted that he'll be showing "something", TGS will probably kill me a lot more than E3 did. Dissidia Sephiroth better have a damn release date by the time it's over...

It does my whatever-pases-for-a-heart good to know that there are still awesome things being discovered in various releases of Shadow of the Colossus. Like Valus moving outside of his arena, and Argus exploring the mountains. Let me say that again: exploring the mountains. This is big stuff for some of us who have wondered if that area is just marked as mountains and forgotten. The fact that they aren't, that there are real structures there that react to light (even if they don't have collision data) is sort of... extremely interesting. That's a shitload of data to just up and hide from the player. Hm, says I. Of course there's the entire dam structure shoved aside but still existing in the released game and so on too. Maybe Team ICO don't wipe their data anywhere nearly as cleanly as S-E do... but then there are still little exciting bits in S-E games, too. I'm a beta geek, leave me alone.

And in "Kojima is sort of quickly catching up to Nomura in terms of my favoritism", here's MGS: Peacewalker's date with Kaz. Kaz as played by Robin Atkin Downes. I'm so very amused all around. But while we're on the subject of excellent Metal Gear Solid YouTube stuff, do check out Modern War Gear Solid. There's also a part 2, and some outtakes that must be seen if only for the rest of the Otacon codec. You know I can only support fan-made things that make me laugh that hard. *grin* Can't wait for the third episode.

Problematically In The Voice Of A Night Elf Woman is just an interesting piece. Again, it's a bit about gender relations and sexual/gender identity and how these ideas were uncovered while playing WOW. (No, I will still never play it.)

Keep On Asking About Citizen Kane actually manages to open up both sides of the "debate" regarding "gaming's Citizen Kane. Which doesn't exist yet. Or does it? Or will it? Or should it? Or won't you all just shut up already?

I really don't care about The Witcher 2. But their press kit impresses the hell out of me. Reducing game journalists to grinning, giggling children is a lot harder than it looks.

Now do I care for Dragon Age II, but the trailer is luscious.

Satoshi Kon has died. I am sadly only familiar with Perfect Blue, but I have been meaning to see Paprika... er, for many years. I suppose I will have to do so now, as his last written words made me smile.

How to Hire an Artist has gotten its author repeatedly kicked for writing this in the first place. I think it's an alarmingly important piece for artists.

Itty bitty tiny frogs! ...It might not be important, but look! Awww.

In "purely neat shit"/"science isn't always evil" news, A toothpaste-like gel that can heal wounds six times faster than normal. And once you get your mind around that, Nanotech tea bag creates safe drinking water instantly, for less than a penny.

Does anyone else think the words "Mad Max reenactment" sound like a really bad idea..? Awesome as fuck, but people are gonna die. *grin*

Top 15 Worst Logo FAILS Ever. Just... trust me on this one. You want to see these. Not safe for work, home, or people who don't automatically see dirty things everywhere already.

Along those lines, Casual Day in Gotham City Has Gone Too Far. Yes.

Okay. Now I'm off to prop myself up and hope my stupid back will stop doing whatever the hell it thinks its doing and settles down. And my wrist still hurts. Bah, complaints. (On the up side, there's now a toilet downstairs. Exciting, no? And SHELVES TO FILL WITH TOYS it's so exciting for no reason at all.) I will get back to comments. Some day. I will.

So far I've found Ocarina of Time to be far more impressive in terms of fucked up glitches. Have you seen the new 1:16 speedrun of the game? It had me laughing at several points, including one where young link falls to the bottom of the well by hitting a chicken. Bombing oneself in order to zoom across the landscape is also pretty nifty.

I'm pretty sure paying for hookers for the game journalists would have been thematically appropriate.

I do detect a hint of self-righteousness when I hear people tell artists not to sell their work cheap. It's not that art isn't underpriced in various fandoms, which I don't dispute; rather, it's that the artists must weigh charging high versus letting more people derive joy from their work, and not everyone will weigh those priorities equally.
