( Pictures of my ``Dark Tower trade`` under the cut because... well, I didn't want to thumbnail these. )
And then there's my "Father's Day card".
Things have been good in general. Getting ready for vacation. Every last damn part of me is ready for a little time away. By which I mean there will be a flurry of activity right before I leave and not before then, because pft.
I want to believe the official confirmation of Spike and Vicious (yes, of the Cowboy Bebop persuasion) Play Arts Kai figure (yes, as made by Square-Enix) is a good thing. After all, it's a Sunrise property, and... you see where I'm going with this. Unfortunately, Play Arts Kai prices have been rising with every release, so... well, fuck. A lot of fuck. Not in the cool way. Looks like no poseable Raiden for me in the near future. Maybe hope still remains of a poseable Motoko that doesn't look like her face is half melted or she's in "woman pain"... At least I'll have my T-elos! After however many months she gets delayed. Has anyone started a pool yet? Or one having to do with when H-01 will show up for pre-order? I will have you, my beautiful plastic bitches. .........Yes, anyway.
In tones less tainted with psychosis, the most reassuring thing I've heard regarding The Last Guardian thus far: "[The Last Guardian] is going to ship when it’s absolutely ready. It’s going to ship at sometime, and it’s going to ship when it’s ready. And I think that’s a really important thing to remember, is that it would be very easy to ship a game when it’s not quite ready because we need to meet a business plan. Gamers are first, and the experiences we provide are first. And that’s why we’re gonna talk about that game when we’re ready to talk about it." Okay. I'll hold you to it. But I can wait.
The Rise and Collapse of Yoshinori Ono is as incredibly interesting as it is incredibly sad. I really don't think you have to look any further to see both what the video game industry is doing right (keeping truly passionate people close by) and absolutely, inexcusably wrong (working them potentially literally to death). Seems no one really gets past that point, though.
I found The Two Deaths That Defined Tomb Raider interesting in quite a different way. It's just a bit of intriguing reflection. Though that's being said from the perspective of someone who never got into Tomb Raider, so.
Now You Know it Anyway is just a neat little animated short.
Me being me, I love this idea. "Bespoke Innovations creates custom-made fairings that restore the leg contours that many prosthetic legs fail to. These fairings then fit with the customer's existing prosthetic. Instead of mimicking the look of human skin, however, the Bespoke Fairings are designed to look like something completely distinct, combining colors and patterns that dress up the leg. The idea is to allow customers to express their aesthetics and personality through their prosthetic leg, just as they would through an accessory or article of clothing."
The 22 rules of storytelling, according to Pixar. And I do love me some Pixar.
Transit Workers Save Nummy the Bunny from a Grisly Locomotive Death. I don't know, man, it's just... one of those little moments when maybe you think the whole of the human race isn't actually shit. (The site itself is kind of NSFW, though.)
And finally, The Pug That Couldn't Run. I couldn't quite resist linking to that.
