wickedorin: Dissidia!Ex-Mode!Seph (Dissidia!Ex-Mode!Seph)

This is an experiment. I'd consider this blog a little... "side journal", so to speak. My original journal is still very much in use--and will give you an idea of exactly what this one is going to be like. Mostly because I'm using Semagic to cross-post.

So why this sudden blog-splatter? Like I said, an experiment. It seems that a lot of artists are managing to make ends meet through "social networking". I'm not what you'd call "social"--at least, not with most people. I'm perfectly social with certain folk... but I'm not really the Facebook/Twitter kind of person. I need a lot of room, I have a lot of ideas, and most of them involve strings of cursing that wouldn't fit into a single "tweet".

What you'll need to know:

  • There will be pictures of awesome shiny objects that I've made.
  • There will eventually be music I've made dumped onto the general public again.
  • There will be odd writings posted here from time to time.
  • There will occasionally be a recipe or two, when I can manage to get around to cooking again.
  • There will be link dumps, rants, and many other things involving my key obsessions: video games, action figures, prettiness and music.
  • There will be cursing. "Fuck" is my favorite word and I use it, and many colorful phrases, liberally.
  • There will be talk of sexuality. This is not limited to but certainly does include: pansexuality, homosexuality, jokes about how boring heterosexuals are, ignoring gender roles, "mixed sex/es", and hot yaoi fanfiction.
  • RAMBLING LIKE WHOA WITH THE RAMBLING STOP RAMBLING WHY WON'T YOU STOP RAMBLING

So, fair warning. Carry on.
Yes, another break from the constant repetitive motions that make crochet so... damn crochet-y. And I thought doing all of the chocobo bodies first was a smart thing. Ah ha ha. Ha. Well, damn. If everything gets finished on time, I will be well over last year's chocobo count. Which ought to be terrifying. ...And yeah, it kinda is. But clearly I am in the "WHY MUST WRISTS FEEL PAIN?" phase where I really should slow down a little until it passes. Bleh. Made more bleh by my back being... my back. Stupid back. But I've got some links, so it's okay!

First off, um. ...S-E actually asked for fan opinions on a FFVII remake. ...I've got... incredibly mixed feelings about this. I know, weird. *grin* On one hand, of course I'd buy it. On the other... in general, I have no interest in remakes and I don't see a single reason for one of FFVII to exist... beyond a fully rendered Miss Cloud and a fully rendered shirtless Sephiroth which apparently they forgot in ACC *cough*, obviously. (I'm just not a "GRAPHICS R EVERYTHING!11" person.) That final scene in Advent Children: Complete just seemed to... close the door. I'd rather it not be wrenched open artificially, is all. I'm well aware that some would argue that's what the Compilation is, loudly. Heh.

An amusing anecdote. Gamers: they're everywhere.

Now if you didn't know about Ubisoft's big ol' DRM clusterfuck, here you go. Seems that already the DRM servers went ka-blammo. I'm following this out of the need to see what happens next. Beside more outrage. We can all predict that one.

Firearms in Games is something I stumbled upon when researching Ebony and Ivory. Good reference page, considering how little information there is to go on for most of these guns--and the Ebony and Ivory section had me drooling. Mmm. As the page author says, "In short, I WANT THESE GUNS."

In case you have not seen the Jesus Venn Diagram... now you have.

Supposedly pre-orders for the new Play Arts Devil May Cry figures have "opened up" but... I see the same three online stores carrying them for under $40 and quite a few more going $50+. Then someone's got the release date set for late June... I know, wishful thinking on everyone's part.

Finally... is it just me or does the look on Laguna's face sort of creep you out just a bit? I know, I need to stop looking at toy news.

Back to work for me. Just... slowly.
