It’s only when taking 80+ pictures of beaded color samples to show off different types/finishes of white beads on different backgrounds and under different lighting when you realize the entire process is way too similar to listening to people insisting that two exact same colors with two different names are actually not exactly the same. …Maybe other people have better experiences with color samples than I do but no. Just. No. …Luckily all of these whites are actually distinctly different or I would have been incredibly unhappy.
Maybe if I happen to get this commission and after I get it finished I can set aside some time to see if I’m not a dried-up has been musician since these lyrics keep bugging me. Sounds like a plan, yeah? Guitar I’m not so worried about; some of that’s just muscle memory that never went away. Drums… I fucking hate sequencers, but I’ll deal. If I… still have any. …Hm. Vocals, though. Boy. That’s a thing. For another time.
Saturday morning, Cassie started coughing. This wracking, deep, throaty, wheezing, wet cough. So that’s terrifying. And it lasted. All day. And that night. And the poor thing was just exhausted and clearly feeling horrible on Sunday morning. We’d adjusted her diet to more soft things to make it a little easier on her throat, tried to incorporate a little bit of honey, but that only helped so much. She never did lose her appetite, at least.
Halfway through Sunday, she stopped drinking water. Just outright refused. Concern. Vegetable broth with water was a no. Chicken broth with water was a no. More concern. …But chicken soup, on the other hand, had her interest. Cue 18+ hours of occasional diluted, warmed chicken soup, carrots, chicken bits, and noodles included. Because, well, my puppy.
Sunday night was a little better, and she managed to get more sleep. Interrupted by coughing fits, but still. Tried to get her to switch from diluted chicken soup to diluted fruit juice on Monday, because sodium. She was kind of interested in watered down pineapple juice. We went with that.
Finally this morning she was showing signs of actually feeling better, and drank regular water. But there is still coughing. Mostly because she continues to push herself
…No this doesn’t remind me of anyone else at all, be quiet. But she is doing better, so maybe I can manage to drop a little stress. That’d be good, as this is definitely not a great health day for me.
Look, my “puppy” is an 11-year-old pug. I’m under so illusion that we’re closer to the beginning than the end. As long as there’s light in those eyes, though… I’m going to protect it.
Generally absent Riku muse, you can just go fuck your smirking self.
